Magnetic Force:
Powers the world, with motors and generators.

This bar mangnet show two poles. One North and one South. All magnets have a pair of poles. We use North and South so students do not confuse them with the Charge that comes with electricity which is positive and negative.
The field lines around the magnet make it look like a hamburger with the magnet the meat in the middle. The field lines cannot be see with our eyes, however they can be seen when you sprinkle iron filings around a magnet.(see several images below)
We choose to have the lines of FORCE go from the north to the south.
However when we look at the earth magnetic field its has the South pole at the North pole of the earth. ( This is typical of Science; NOT always what you expect! WHY is this so?)
